Annual Policy Review Campaigns for Insurance Agencies

Oct 13, 2026 · 5 min read · BoostCab team

The annual policy review is arguably the highest-value conversation an insurance agency can have with a client. It catches coverage gaps, updates changed circumstances, and reminds the client why they have an agent instead of a website. It is also the conversation most clients never get, because nobody has time to schedule it.

The usual process is a spreadsheet and good intentions. A producer means to call last year's clients, gets busy with renewals and claims, and the reviews slip to next quarter, then next year. Clients notice the silence when a competitor calls offering a quote.

Running review campaigns on autopilot

Start with timing: clients due for review get an email or text a few weeks before their renewal, with a simple booking link for a 15-minute call. No response after a few days gets a second touch with a different angle, maybe a short checklist of life changes that affect coverage. The system tracks who booked and who needs a third nudge.

The trick is segmenting the message. A new homeowner, a growing family, and a retiree have different coverage questions. A short note that references their situation gets booked far more often than a generic "time for your review" blast. The data to segment already lives in your system. It just needs to be used.

What the review actually protects

The campaign is not about selling more policies. Most reviews confirm the client is fine, and that is fine. The value is the relationship: the client hears from their agent before a competitor reaches them, and the agent learns about the new boat, the teenage driver, or the home business before it becomes an uncovered claim.

If your agency means to do reviews but never gets to them, a Free Workflow Review will show how a campaign could run from your current book of business without new staff.
